Unable to ping remote node DRBD address

Postby micoots on Mon Oct 30, 2006 9:38 pm

Hi Simon,

Using 1.0.11-1

I had to add more virtual IP's so added them, halted the app and restarted the app, only to see this error:

WARN 31/10/2006 08:34:29
WARN 31/10/2006 08:34:29 Unable to ping remote node DRBD address - disk synchronisation
WARN 31/10/2006 08:34:29 is not currently available!
WARN 31/10/2006 08:34:29

I'm worried now. What's causing this and how can I resolve it?

Thanks.

Michael.
What am I running on Linuxha.net?

Fixed. I checked the DRBD cat6 crossover cable between nodes and noticed they had no link light.

I unplugged both, replugged in and then got link light.

I then noticed the sync took place so all is back to normal.

I'm concered that I wasn't notified somehow of this loss of DRBD connectivity?

Isn't linuxha.net support to alert on this?

Thanks.

Michael.

Hi Michael,
Such a link failure would have been logged in the fsmon.log file for any running applications under (/var/log/cluster/lems).

I guess a log file monitor interface to most systems management software could be used to alert on such errors?

Simon.
